When work packages are being awarded during projects, the wider team (including both the public sector and SFT) select a supply chain to approach for market testing which will include as many local suppliers as possible. This is an established process to achieve best value for the public sector and a range of criteria are examined in this process including quality, capacity, and health and safety compliance, alongside price.

On the back of work secured through Hub South East and Hub South West, we’ve been able to employ more staff and in turn, take on more work. We’re grateful for the opportunity that work through the Scottish Hubs has given us to expand. It’s encouraging to see the programme support and sustain SMEs and with a turnover of £15-20m, we are able to make a significant reinvestment back into the Scottish economy as a result.
